I’m not really much on numerical ratings but gun to my head I’d give it an adequately groovy 7. It’s good (and at times it’s really good) but I’d be lying if I didn’t confess to having some small gripes with it.
I never really found myself to be particularly invested in any of the characters the way I was with the original film and I honestly felt like it took waaaay too long to get going with things, but that’s alright because once it did it definitely packed a wallop. It’s bloody and messy and unpleasant and tense and it’s seriously just dripping with atmosphere. I recommend it completely.
And, yeah, the ending is great. It’s the best part, really.
